About the New Facility

The Foothills Water team has proposed a conceptual design of the new 6.9 million gallon per day facility utilizing state-of-the-art membrane bioreactor process technology and automation on a small footprint utilizing 5-acres, built underground and discretely located within the Foothills District of Lake Oswego. The new facility concept has been designed to meet future capacity needs of the Cities of Lake Oswego and Portland to the year 2050 and to meet current high-volume flows due to peak rain events. Due to the innovative design of the new facility, it will be constructed outside of the 500-year floodplain, designed to meet current seismic resiliency standards, and will produce significantly improved water quality for future reuse, all for the benefit of the environment and the Willamette River.
